Bonus Tip From Our Friends Over at Reddit
It's called a breakup because it's broken.
I just came out of a relationship of two years. He dumped me out of the blue and I just didn't know what to do or think. My friends and family were all telling me the same thing. "He doesn't deserve you" "You're better off without him" "You'll find someone new sooner than you think" And so on. But is that really what you need/want to hear?
So yes, I did it. I bought a stupid self-help book (It's called a breakup because it's broken by Greg Behrendt & Amiira Ruotola-Behrendt). Why? Because I needed to listen to someone/something whom I couldn't interupt with excuses to defend him. But really, it is amazing. It's sad, funny, easy to read, but most of all: it's true. I've been crying my eyes out while reading this book. Not only because of my emotional state, but also because the message behind this book is that it doesn't stop here. I really needed to hear and see that.
This book really got me through the past week and is slowly making me see how to turn my breakup in a breakover. ;-) So I thought, maybe, it will do the same for you guys.
